The Kind-Hearted Thief

A Pickpocket’s Unexpected Act of Generosity

you'll never believe what happened to me the other day! I was walking off the bus and felt someone bump into me. Turns out, my pocket had been picked! But get this - it wasn't even a big deal. All that was in there was 9 rupees and a letter I had written to my mom, telling her I lost my job and couldn't send money right now.

I had that letter sitting in my pocket for 3 whole days, 'cause I just couldn't bring myself to mail it to her. And the 9 rupees? That's not a huge amount, but when you're out of work, even 9 rupees feels like a lot.

A few days go by, and I get a letter from my mom. .  I was anxious about opening it since I assumed she would ask for money.  However, as I read it, I couldn't believe my eyes!  She wrote, "Son, I received the 50 rupee money order you sent. You're such a good boy, always sending money on time!"

I was scratching my head, wondering, "Who sent money to my mom?" Then, a few more days pass, and another letter shows up.

It said, "Brother, I took your 9 rupees and added 41 of my own to send your mom a money order. Don't worry about it - after all, all mothers are the same, right? Gotta make sure she's taken care of!"

Can you believe that? The guy who pickpocketed me SENT MONEY TO MY MOM! I guess even thieves had some honor back in the old days. Crazy stuff, huh?
