During World War II, he was in charge of a mosque in Paris. Before emigrating to France, he was born in Algeria.
Germany started sending Jews from France to detention camps when World War II started.
Si Kaddour started providing many Jews in the area with sanctuary through obedient Muslim households in the neighbourhood.
He would falsely claim that Jews were Muslims in the records of Jews when German inspectors arrived. Of the end, he provided the Jews with cellars and basements in mosques where they could hide during the battle. Additionally, he provided them with bogus documents that would attest to their Muslim faith, saving them from probable execution.
He also maintained an open-door policy at his mosque. Any guests who had Jewish friends in need of safety were welcome to bring them along.
500 Jews were saved by Si Kaddour by the conclusion of the war. At doing so, he put his life in danger. The majority of people are also unaware of him.
