Do you need a security guard?

Unusual animals have been employed as guardians?

If you reside anywhere where coyotes may skim your herd of smaller grazing animals, such as goats or sheep, such as the western United States.

Llamas used as guards can be added to the group.

They are reasonable watch animals. They will scream out in a loud, shrill manner if they spot a single coyote or wolf. They can quickly be detected because they have keen senses.

Additionally, if a predator is able to get close to the herd, the llama won't be afraid to approach it, spitting at it and even kicking if necessary.

Since they are significantly larger than the other animals, llamas usually assimilate into the group and frequently assume the role of alpha. However, they excel in this position.

When they spot a predator, they usually hoot, which gathers all the sheep in a cluster close to him. After that, he will go put himself between the sheep and the predators.

Additionally, they can defend much smaller farm animals. Llamas make good security officers.

Herders enjoy employing them. Although they can be unpleasant and have a tendency to spit at humans, they don't constantly bark like sheepdogs and are fiercely protective of their territory.
