Boss...former slave

During the Civil War, a former slave by the name of Bass Reeves ran away to freedom after beating up his master. Years later, he rose to prominence as one of the Wild West's most dreaded lawmen.

Reeves reportedly apprehended 3,000 criminals while serving as the first Black Deputy U.S. Marshal to patrol the area. And never once did he get shot, even though he was in a lot of shootouts. Reeves patrolled the entire 75,000 square miles of Indian Territory while mounted on a big white stallion and carrying two Colt.45 Peacemakers at his sides.
