It seems these pagers may have been changed somehow to make them blow up. Reports say the group called Hezbollah bought these pagers in the past few months. Doctors are worried there could be more explosions.
Most of the explosions happened in southern Beirut. This area is known as Dahiyeh. Many followers of Hezbollah live there.
Officials from Israel have not said much about this directly. But tensions have grown between Israel and Hezbollah lately. They have been fighting in the area. Hezbollah promised to respond fairly to what they call attacks from Israel.
