A Story About a Big Bang and What Came After
Imagine a world full of really big animals – dinosaurs walking through jungles, flying lizards soaring through the air. That's what Earth was like 66 million years ago. But then something from outer space came crashing down and changed everything!
A giant rock from outer space, around 6 miles wide, smashed into the ocean near Mexico. It made a huge hole in the water called Chicxulub. The bang was so loud, it ended most life on our planet, even the big dinosaurs. More than 3 out of every 4 animals died.
Scientists looked at fish fossils from that time. They found the big bang happened in the spring for places in the northern part of the world. The destruction started right away and was super bad. Rocks hotter than anything shot through the sky over 1,000 miles from where the rock hit.
