 China produces record 687 billion kg of grain



  The latest data on China's grain production has come as a shock.  According to China's National Bureau of Statistics, in 2022, total grain production in the country's 31 provinces will reach 686.55 billion kilograms, an increase of 0.5 percent year-on-year and a new record.  This is the eighth consecutive year that total grain production in China has been above 650 billion kg.  Also, the country's total cultivable area under cereals stood at 118 million hectares, an increase of 0.6 percent over the previous year.
