Why did Imam Hussain rise against Yazid?

Protecting the religion of Islam from being distorted:

Distortion of a school of thought is the biggest danger for that school of thought. The worst distortion in any school and religion is that the leaders and politicians of that school act contrary to the laws and regulations of that school and religion, but in front of other people  Speech and character began to be understood exactly according to the laws, constitutions and teachings of this school.  Even during the time of Imam Hussain (A.S.), there was such a threat to Islam from the Umayyad machinery.  Imam Khomeini says in this regard, the intention of the cruel and oppressive Yazidi government was to draw a line on the bright face of Islam with a red pen and to free the sufferings of the Muslims and the pure blood of the martyrs of the Prophet of Islam and the President of Islam.  Waste it.  At another place, Imam Khomeini says, Umayyads presented Islam as a tyrannical system, and even presented the face of the founder of Islam as opposed to reality.  Mu'awiya and his tyrannical son Yazid, under the title of caliph and messenger of God, treated Islam the way Genghis Khan treated Iran and turned a religion based on revelation into a satanic regime.

In another place, Imam Khomeini says, Sayyid al-Shahada Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) knew that Muawiya and his son were destroying this great school and were distorting the real face of Islam.  Even if there were congregations, meetings of bloodshed were held.  They used to shout slogans of wanting God, but they stood against God and divinity.  Their actions and their behavior were satanic but their cry was that of the Caliph, the Messenger of God.  The threat posed to Islam by Muawiya and Yazid was not that the caliphate was angered, but it was a very minor threat, but the grave threat posed to Islam by them was that these people made Islam an empire and a royal kingdom.  Wanted to change the system.  They wanted to change the meaning of Islam into a Taghut and this was the biggest threat to Islam and this threat was repelled by Imam Hussain (A.S.) and if he succeeded in this, there would have been another map of Islam and Islam too.  It would have become like a two thousand five hundred year royal regime and empire. 5.  Similarly, he says at another place, when Sayyid al-Shahada (peace be upon him) saw that the Umayyad family was polluting the school of Islam in the name of the Islamic caliphate and doing all kinds of oppression, while other people's impression is that it was  The Caliph is the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, so he is doing this work.  Imam Hussain (A.S.) considered it his duty to stand up against Yazid and become a martyr in this way to bury the remains of Muawiya and his son Yazid forever.

Imam Khomeini states that the problem during the reign of Muawiyah and his son Yazid was that these people were distorting the true face of Islam and committed all kinds of crimes under the title of Caliph of the Muslims and Caliph of the Messenger of Allah.  Therefore, it was the responsibility of the elders of Islam to stand up against them, to expose their malice on the world and to present the real face of Islam to the world because many ignorant and oblivious people considered this to be the Islamic Caliphate.  6 In these words of Imam Khomeini, you emphasize the problem of distortion, calling it very dangerous and fighting it as one of the goals of the establishment of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him). The danger of this distortion is  It was that in the cloak of Islam, the Islamic teachings were deliberately tampered with and this work was also done by those people who called themselves Caliphs of the Muslims.  In a very short period of time, Islam was being erased from the pages of the page while ignorant people considered their actions and character to be exactly according to Islamic teachings.  When Marwan told Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) to pledge allegiance to Yazid by following the suggestion of the governor of Madinah, he recited the word Istrijaa and said, "Wa Ali-ul-Islam, peace be upon him, az-qud bilayat-ul-Umma bara' like Yazid."  7.‎ (Continued)
