Smart plans

The Canal Solar Power Project started by the Gujarat Government, to use the km( mi) long network of Narmada conduits across the state for setting up solar panels to induce electricity.

It was the first ever similar design in India, a simple idea that has huge ramifications.

The airman design generated 1 MW of clean energy per time and also averted evaporation of kilolitres( US gallons) of water annually from the conduit.

The design nearly eliminates the demand to acquire vast tracts of land and limits evaporation of water from the 750 metres( ft) long conduit, diving two challenges contemporaneously by furnishing energy and water security.
