China Declines to Join Anti-Houthi Coalition

 



China is not joining the group of countries led by the United States trying to stop the Houthis. This shows that China wants to follow a policy where it doesn't get involved in other countries' problems.

Their decision shows how China is trying hard to be friends with both Iran and the United States, even though those two countries don't get along. Even though the Houthis attacking ships could cause big problems for Chinese trade, Beijing thinks the best way to solve issues is by talking to people instead of using the military. Joining with the United States could damage China's goals in the region, so they think a calmer way of dealing with fights between groups is better.
