Gardening is a lot of labor! The slugs are always wrecking things. No matter how much I collect, there's always more the next day. It irritates me because I work so hard cultivating beautiful flowers for Mama, and these nasty slugs just eat them all up! That way, slugs won't want to crawl through it since it's so scratchy. I tried that, and it appears to be working!
I also put copper strips around the flower pots, just like Mr. Johnson showed me. I didn't know slugs didn't like copper, but I guess it gives them a tiny shock if they touch it. They won't go near the plants now.https://amzn.to/3zREKqI
My favorite trick is the beer trap! I dug little holes and put some of Daddy's beer in small cups. The next morning, I found slugs inside, stuck, and grossed out. It made me giggle because who wouldn't want to drink beer? Silly slugs.
The garden is looking so much better with less slug damage. Now I can show Mama how hard I worked without those slugs ruining it. I think my flowers might even win the prize at the county fair this year!
